Seniors Place at Leadership Conference
Congratulations to seniors, Emily Jonson and Alyssa Monette, who competed at Northwest Suburban Integration School District’s Leadership Conference, held on April 25, in theme development. Alyssa took first place and Emily received third.
Students were asked to come up with a theme about leadership in eight words or less, then write about it in a paragraph explaining their theme and what it means to them.
The 2018 Leadership Conference will be based on Alyssa’s theme: “Education and Leadership- our secrets to success.” The purpose of this conference is to teach teamwork, leadership skills and workplace values; promote interest in the field of education; and, encourage students to enroll in post-secondary education. The Student Leadership Conference unites a diverse group of approximately 350 high school students who participate in one of two programs: Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) and Educators Rising.
